Summer Fun in the Desert
July 3, 2010
Mylee finally found her true retrieving roots today. We had a “learn to love the water” day. Well, now she does! She retrieved her toy for an hour and then came in the house and collapsed! Finally I’ve found something to wear out that dog. Here are a couple of pictures of her in the pool. Her daughter, Rowdie, decided that water is not for her. We will work on it and hopefully have the two of them jumping in together by the end of the week! It certainly creates a new look for the poodle when they dry and are all curly…kinda cute actually

Mylee finally decides that water is fun!

Barely hangin' on!

Great way to beat the 114 degree heat!
A Look at Agility
April 24, 2010
Here is a link where you can watch Mylee and I on one of our “good” agility runs. Thanks Lloyd for video taping and posting it for me! http://www.youtube.com/user/gooddogagility#p/search/1/ZBBD57k60xg
As soon as I get my scanner going, I will post pics of Mylee too! Agility is such fun, thanks to the awsome instructors at Meadow Lane Farm Dog Sports!! Kodie, Kim, Anita and Cindy are absolutely wonderful!!! www.mlfdogsports.com
NADAC
January 8, 2010
Well, Mylee and I have decided to start our agility trials with NADAC (www.nadac.com ). They are all about speed and accuracy. They do not use the teeter, table or tire jump so obstacles are limited. If you have a fast dog, it’s a great place to start. We are working on our weave poles still….they are a tough one. Mylee can get through them if she enters them correctly. We will be up at Paradise Valley Park the weekend of Jan 16-17. Come up for gander if you have time. It is off of Bell and 40th St. in Phoenix. Bring some chairs and a cooler. It’s a great day! Many great dogs to watch and learn about the sport. Everyone is so friendly and willing to chat about the sport. I love it! If you are there, look for us. Mylee is the only toy brown(ish) poodle out there so we should be easy to spot on the novice courses!! I would love to chat with you!
First Trial With Mylee
November 30, 2009
Well, the time had finally arrived when I sucked it up and entered an agility trial. My stomach was in knots knowing we just weren’t quite ready, but new we had to get our feet wet at some point soon. So, Thanksgiving weekend we entered jumpers, touch and go, hoopers and tunnelers in the NADAC competition. (www.nadac.com) We had a blast and learned so much about agility. How to run…and how NOT to run!! Mylee did wonderful and didn’t have any “zoomies”. (the term used for when they go running around like a spaz and not paying any attention to you!) We had qualifying times and clean runs in both jumpers and tunnelers. The icing on the cake was that she is soooo fast that we took 1st place in both events. As for touch and go and hoopers…hmmmm. Well, let’s say that we will have another shot at those at the end of December. If you are in the Phoenix area, come out to a trial and check it out. So much fun to run with your dogs and a great activity to get you in shape as well! Even little kids run with the dogs. All of the family can get involved. Shoot me an email if you’d like more information!
Everyone has a Home!
October 24, 2009
Well, it’s been awhile since I’ve posted, but we’ve been busy! Mylee is back in agility training and we made some changes with puppies. We decided to keep Rowdie since we were all so attached to each other. Liza, who is now Lucy, will be moving to Alaska to live with Therese and Eric and her poodle brother Leo! They are so excited to get their new addition home at Christmas time. Our little black Lucy Lou Jean is happily residing with Jennifer in Kansas City. She is doing awesome and Jennifer wants another puppy now! Pierre’s name has been changed to Pablo Kung Foo Panda and has a fabulous home with Beth and Chris and several other poodle siblings. He is the lovey dovey pup of the bunch. Bear, who has been named Nuppah, has a four year old, two legged sibling named Grant. They spend countless hours making their parents crazy! Congratulations to all of you on the addition of your new family members!
Rowdie will be making her debut in puppy class this week. It will be fun to start her training and see how fast she catches up with her mom! She is very smart and can sit, down and stay (well, we are working on that one!)
After having the pups and settling in with the new puppy, I have decided to sell Harley. He is a great stud dog and produces wonderful puppies. If you are interested in adding him to your breeding program, please contact me.
Thanks for catching up with us!
